Who we are

Our talented teachers have extensive experience as educators, performers, songwriters, recording artists and producers. Instead of one standard approach or method, our lessons are tailored to each individual student to ensure learning is personalized, challenging and fun. Our aim is to support each student and enable a life-long love for making music.

For eight years, Replay was a beloved destination for musicians of all ages. We are forever grateful to our amazing staff and loyal customers who helped us make our dream come true by sharing the joy of making music at Replay. Complications during the pandemic led us to simplify our business and focus on education. Our partnership with Music Makers NYC allows us to continue to offer rock band programs and private lessons in a professional studio environment. We also offer the option for virtual private lessons using Zoom.

Alex brings this variety of experience to his teaching, and encourages his students to learn many different styles of music, in addition to their favorite songs. Alex has been teaching drums at Replay since 2013, and now also leads the Recording Workshop and Recording Camps.

Caleb Rubin, Bass

Since the age of 10 when he first joined a rock band with his friends (at Replay), Caleb has displayed his talent for holding down a steady groove on the bass guitar and for being a creative, collaborative and supportive bandmate. He played in jazz ensembles throughout high school and in college, has sung in an a cappella group, and currently plays with the Brooklyn-based band SAVOIA, performing in venues such as Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroom. His patient and encouraging teaching skills stem from his time as a kid learning from the many talented band coaches whom he had the privilege of working with. He loves helping children get excited and motivated to work together to write songs, build skills, and make great music.

Wyatt Camery, Guitar, Bass

Wyatt Camery is a guitarist from New York, NY. Wyatt majored in Musical Studies at Oberlin College where he formed Hotspur Johnny, a six-piece string band. Wyatt’s tastes are deeply rooted in classic rock but is curious about all music and enjoys sharing this passion with his students at Replay. Most importantly, Wyatt is a Replay alumnus and is very happy to be back!
